Azuki Entering The Streets With Style

The NFT craze is still here despite the recent downturn in the crypto and non-fungible token market this year. Famous digital collectibles like Azuki are hustling to grow their ecosystem at mass. Chiru Labs, the creators of the virtual collectibles, announced that they are partnering with the Japanese street brand AMBUSH® to release fashion clothing and accessories IRL.

This is not the first time the Azuki NFT collection is initiating something associated with the physical world items. In July, the community released the Twin Tigers Jacket, calling it the event as digital to physical experience. The product was inspired by 1940 classic style, bringing the Japanese and American street culture together.

In October 2022, the collection rolled out Physical Backed Tokens (PBT). It brought the concept of scan-to-earn in the game. Users are required to scan a chip which instantly transfers the virtual tokens associated with the physical item into the user wallet. PBT allows the ownership of a physical asset to own virtual asset.

Fashion brands find NFTs attractive as they offer them early access to the metaverse. Louis Vuitton announced Louis The Game on the occasion of the company founder’s 200th birthday. Users have to complete a 200 level quest to receive the unique reward at the end of the game. The chest offered some unique NFTs which the players could sell to generate real life income.

Burberry, one of the most beloved fashion brands globally, collaborated with Mythical Games to launch NFTs on Blankos Block Party. The company has established itself as the most successful British brand since 1856. Their signature clothing, trench coats, were released during World War I.

Dolce and Gabbana was the first fashion brand to enter the NFT space. The Italian luxury fashion house partnered with UNDX, an NFT platform to launch the Genesi clothing line. The initiative was a one-of-a-kind collection that went for a whopping $6 Million in sales real quick.

The Bored Apes NFT collection remains the most popular token in the sector. A couple of owners of the token opened a BAYC-themed restaurant, Bored and Hungry, in Long beach, California. Apart from this, the collection got the likes from the Rap God, Eminem, himself and DoggFather, Snoop Dogg. The duo featured the Bored Apes in their music video, From The D 2 the LBC in June 2022.
