Harry Kane នឹងក្លាយជាមនុស្សល្ងង់ក្នុងការចាកចេញពី Tottenham Hotspur នៅរដូវក្តៅនេះ។

This time last year, Harry Kane was putting himself in a position to leave Tottenham Hotspur. A series of quotes from the centre forward prepared the ground for a summer switch to Manchester City with Kane even refusing to return to pre-season training. In the end, Kane was forced to stay at Spurs as City failed to pay the club’s asking price for their prize asset.

At that time, Kane’s desire to depart North London was understandable. Tottenham had lost their way following the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino and were manager-less after the exit of Jose Mourinho in April 2021. Out of the Champions League and well out of title contention, Kane felt he had no choice but to leave in order to fulfil his potential as one of the best goalscorers of his generation.

Now, though, the landscape has shifted. Manchester City have completed a deal to sign Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and so won’t be returning for Kane this summer. The door to the Premier

League champions has closed for the England captain, at least for the time being.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Kane in the past, and could certainly use a new number nine, but the Old Trafford outfit are currently in a bad way. The 2021/22 season has been their worst of the Premier League era and there’s no guarantee things will improve under a new manager next season.

Real Madrid are long-term admirers of Kane, but are focused on signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Should that transfer materialise, PSG could be in the market for a new attack, and a reunion with Pochettino in the French capital might appeal, but the Parc des Princes is an unhappy place right now. Kane should be wary of moving there.

As well as a lack of alternative options, Tottenham are in a much better place now than they were 12 months ago. Antonio Conte is one of the best managers of his generation and his ideas are taking root in North London. Indeed, the turnaround in form and performances since the Italian’s arrival in November has been notable.

Spurs are still in contention to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League. Should that happen, Kane will surely be content with staying at the club. He’ll be back on the big stage. But even if Tottenham miss out, the 28-year-old must recognise what Conte is building around him.

With the right additions to the squad this summer, Tottenham under Conte could be a formidable force next season. Kane could spearhead something special for Spurs. The club is heading in the right direction again and Kane would be foolish to leave at this stage of their resurgence. Last summer, he wanted to find a club that could help him compete at the top. This summer, he looks to have found that club by staying in the same place.
