Pinkett Smith said that after the Oscars, “Thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” about alopecia, which she wanted to highlight on the Facebook Watch show she hosts with her daughter Willow Smith and mom, Adrienne Norris.

Pinkett Smith said her “deepest hope” is that “these two intelligent, capable men”—Smith and Rock—“have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.”

She said she and her husband are “continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years . . . keep figuring out this thing called life together.”

The three-part series airs from Wednesday to Friday and features stories from people who suffer from alopecia and how it’s affected them and their lives.

When presenting an award at the Oscars in March, Rock joked about Pinkett Smith, who was seated with Smith close to the stage, comparing her appearance to the movie character G.I. Jane. Smith took to the stage and slapped and yelled at Rock. Later that night he won the award for Best Oscar. Smith apologized to Rock and to the Academy, from which he has permanently resigned. The Academy also banned Smith from being able to attend events put on by the group for ten years, though he can still be nominated for awards. Some of Smith’s projects have reportedly been delayed in the wake of the slap. Pinkett Smith has stayed largely mum on the incident until now. Shortly after the incident, she said in a statement that her family is “focusing on deep healing” and some “discoveries” from that process will be shared on ពិភាក្សាអំពីតារាងក្រហម “when the time comes.”
