The Mavs Foundation, the charitable arm of the Dallas Mavericks, is once again making a monumental donation to Dallas-Fort Worth-area nonprofit organizations. For the 2022-23 NBA season, the Mavs Foundation is allocating more than $1 million to help organizations serving local children, women and families in need.

“We are excited to be able to continue our investment of $1 million back into the community,” President of the Mavs Foundation Katie Edwards said in a release. “Each year brings new and growing needs from across North Texas. We strive to spread our commitment across a diverse range of programs in order to respond to our changing world and support families who need it most during this time.”

The money will be distributed as grants for special projects and emergency aid. It will support projects from building basketball courts and reading and learning centers to job training and teen mentorship, domestic violence support and continued assistance for disaster and relief efforts.
