Trevor Noah សហការជាមួយ Amazon សម្រាប់ 'LOL: South Africa'

Trevor Noah has taken on his first project since leaving The Daily Show. The comedian is set to host Amazon’s first South African original, a new installment of its LOL: ចុងក្រោយសើច សិទ្ធិផ្តាច់មុខ។

LOL: Last One Laughing is an Amazon-made comedy competition reality show that has been adapted in over 20 countries by the streamer. The show was first developed in Japan, called Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental, and has aired nine seasons since 2016. Since then, versions of the show have been made in Germany, Canada, Mexico, Australia and others. Other សើចឮខ្លាំង versions are hosted by comedians such as Rebel Wilson, Eugenio Debez and Jay Baruchel.

The South African edition of សើចឮខ្លាំង will launch next year and follow ten famous South African comedians as they are pitted against each other to see who can keep a straight face and who can make their opponents laugh. The competition’s grand prize is a donation of R1 million to the winner’s South African charity of choice. The show features six-30 minute episodes and is produced by Rapid Blue and Noah’s Day Zero Productions.

“I’m excited to be back home to host Prime Video’s first South African original, LOL: ចុងក្រោយសើច, and to have a chance to connect with my home audience,” said Noah. “I am equally delighted for the opportunity to be working alongside my fellow home-grown comedy stars on a show that not only entertains but gives back to the South African production and charity communities.”

“We are delighted to be announcing Trevor’s momentous return home to South Africa as the host of Prime Video’s first South African original, LOL: ចុងក្រោយសើច,” added Ned Mitchell, head of Africa and Middle East Originals, Prime Video. “Comedy, in all its forms, shines among South Africa’s most valuable treasures. Together with an A-list roster of this country’s incredible home-grown comedic talent competing for a great charitable cause, Trevor and Prime Video are demonstrating the depth of our shared ambition to invest and elevate the very best of South Africa for audiences locally and around the world.”

Noah is best known for hosting the Daily Show from 2015 to 2022. However, before his run on the show, he made a name for himself in both his native South Africa and America as a stand-up comedian. Before coming to America, Noah hosted the South African TV shows Run the Adventure, Real Goboza and The Amazing Date.
