Hackers hijacked the Twitter account of an obscure French politician earlier this week, using it to promote a Ripple (XRP) scam.

While in control, the scammers tweeted, “XRP is ready to huge PUMP. To support our community, Brad Garlinghouse Ripple XRP CEO initiated XRP GIVE­AWAY…Note: you can take a gift only once. Please hurry up!”

The offending tweets have since been deleted.

នេះ ruse is just one of many to use the likeness of XRP and Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse to snare victims. Scammers have previously hacked the Twitter accounts of the ស្ថានទូតឥណ្ឌា of Oman, sports channel ទូរទស្សន៍ GOAL, and Spanish singer Bertin Osborne.

Indeed, it appears as if Feres isn’t the only target of this particular XRP scam. The exact same message also appears repeatedly on the Twitter feed of Indonesian election organizer KPU Kudus.
