Bankman-Fried himself faces eight criminal charges related to his exchage’s rapid collapse. The US Department of Justice (DoJ) alleges that he defrauded FTX customers and investors and lenders to Alameda Research. The charges against him include wire fraud, conspiracy to commit commodities fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and campaign finance violations.

He pleaded not guilty during a court hearing on December 3, allowing him to remain out on bail until October this year.
